ABOUT US
Welcome to Tarpon Springs Fishing Club, Inc., home of the River Rats! Our organization is a 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to educate and encourage kids and families, in fact everyone, to spend time in and on the local waters of Tarpon Springs, whether fishing, boating or sailing, and enjoy the beautiful marine environment we are blessed to have. We are passionate about pulling kids (and folks of all ages!) away from their screens, getting them "off-line" and outside "on-line"... a fishing line! Come to meetings and experience the camaraderie and light-hearted competition that exists among fishermen and boaters that builds friendships in a way that Facebook can't! Activities for all ages planned: fun tournaments, community outreach, picnics, parades, fish fries and more! Join us on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30 for snacks and to purchase raffle tickets, and 7:00 to learn from a speaker, make friends, and get in on the raffle! Be a part of something bigger than you... you won't walk away disappointed!

Hello folks!!
All has been quiet regarding the club due to our having some family issues that have taken a precedence, as well as a toll on us, over our beloved club.
We apologize for not informing you sooner and leaving you hanging. That was definitely not our intent.
The Get-together at the Tarpon Tavern in October in lieu of a meeting turned out spectacularly. Several members came, new folks showed up, and a fishing trip was planned and soon after executed by some of those who attended. And that, my friends, is the true purpose of our fishing club…to enjoy some fishing-folk-fellowship, make new friends and fishing buddies, and encourage people new to fishing to get out on the water one way or another and enjoy some quality time in the precious marine environment we have been blessed to have here in Tarpon Springs.
A meeting place has yet to be decided, and rather than wait for that perfect venue on the water, we may take the Methodist Church up on their kind offer to hold monthly meetings on the FUMC campus on Tarpon Ave. Also, finding speakers and planning events takes time and consideration. We plan to gather any remaining brain cells between us, take suggestions from the club members and get ramped back up in January…a fresh start for the New Year!
In the meantime, wouldn’t it be nice to have a December Get-Together?? Say, sometime in the first couple of weeks so as not to interfere with people’s Holiday plans?? Please respond with a Yea or Nay via email or Facebook and a suggestion of a location, ie; Tarpon Tavern again, Johnny’s, Miss Vickie’s, or any place with some space and good food that’s not too expensive!
And Please, Please, Please post your fishing pictures on the Facebook page to help keep the enthusiasm Up, Up, Up!!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving and See you in December!!
Steve, Mary and Kelly
